Rental Agreement — SoCal Rentals ("the Company")
By signing below and completing payment, you ("the Renter") agree to the following terms for the rental of the Company's 2021 Keystone Springdale Mini 2010BH travel trailer (the "RV"). The RV is a travel trailer that is towed behind a vehicle — it is never driven on its own.
- Payment authorization. You authorize the Company to charge the full quoted rental amount to the payment method you provide at checkout.
- Card processing fee and taxes. Payments are made by card only. A card processing fee, shown before you pay, is added to your total to cover the card company's processing charge (approximately 2.9% + 30¢), and applicable sales tax is added at checkout based on the billing address you enter. These amounts are non-refundable, including when a reservation is cancelled.
- Card on file for damages. Your payment card will be securely saved on file. You authorize the Company to charge that card, without further approval, for the cost of any damage to the RV or its equipment that occurs during your rental or is found upon return, as well as any other amounts you owe under this agreement. The Company will notify you of any such charge.
- Security deposit hold. The Company may, at its discretion, place a temporary security deposit hold on your card on file, in an amount set by the Company, before or during your rental. A hold is an authorization, not a charge. You authorize the Company, without further approval, to charge all or part of the held amount for damage, cleaning, fuel, tanks, add-ons, or any other amounts owed under this agreement; any unused portion is released. Release timing depends on your card issuer. A deposit does not limit your responsibility for amounts that exceed it.
- Charges to your card; unpaid amounts. All fees, damage costs, and any other amounts you owe under this agreement may be charged to the payment card on file. If a charge to your card is declined, disputed, or otherwise unsuccessful, you remain fully responsible for the full amount and must pay it upon notice from the Company. If any amount remains unpaid, the Company may refer your account to a third-party debt collection agency and/or pursue legal action against you to recover the money you owe. You will remain responsible for the full outstanding balance, together with any reasonable collection costs, court costs, and attorneys' fees permitted by law.
- Responsibility for subsequent rentals. If damage that occurs during your rental causes the RV to be unavailable, you are responsible for the Company's resulting costs until the RV is fully repaired and returned to service. This includes the cost of honoring any affected reservations, such as securing a comparable RV of the same or similar type for another customer whose booking your damage displaces, as well as any refunds or accommodations the Company must provide to that customer.
- No refunds. All sales are final. Because your reservation blocks these dates from all other customers and disrupts business when cancelled, once your order is paid and confirmed there are no refunds for any reason, including cancellations, early returns, weather, or changes of plans.
- No cancellations or rescheduling after payment. Once a booking is paid, it cannot be cancelled by the Renter. The Renter may submit a reschedule request through their account or by contacting the Company; the Company may approve or deny any request at its sole discretion based on availability, approval is not guaranteed, and an approved reschedule may carry additional charges for any price difference. Approval of a reschedule does not entitle the Renter to a refund of any kind.
- Gratuities. Checkout offers an optional tip that is pre-selected at 15% for convenience. The tip is completely optional and you are welcome to change it to any amount, including no tip, before paying. It is your responsibility to review and adjust the tip amount before completing payment. Any tip paid is separate from the rental charges and is non-refundable once paid, including if you did not change the pre-selected amount.
- Assumption of risk; no liability. The Company is not responsible for any injury, death, loss, or damage of any kind that occurs during your rental or trip. You rent and use the RV entirely at your own risk.
- No insurance provided. This rental does not include any insurance coverage. If anything happens while the RV is in your possession — accident, damage, theft, or otherwise — you are required to pay for all resulting costs out of pocket.
- Cleaning. The RV must be returned in reasonably clean condition, in the same state it was received. If the RV is returned excessively dirty — including, but not limited to, excessive trash, spills, stains, odors, pet hair, or mess requiring more than routine cleaning — a cleaning fee of $100 will be charged to the card on file.
- Tanks, propane & generator fuel. If the Renter did not purchase the propane refill, generator gas refill, or tank dump add-ons, the Renter must return the propane and generator fuel refilled and the gray and black water tanks emptied. If, upon return, the propane or generator fuel has not been refilled or the tanks have not been emptied, the Renter authorizes the Company to charge the card on file the applicable add-on amount for each item (propane refill, generator gas refill, and/or tank dump) without further approval.
- Mid-trip tank service (deliveries). On delivered rentals, if the gray or black water tanks fill before the scheduled pick-up date and the Renter asks the Company to return to the site to empty them, the Renter authorizes the Company to charge the card on file an additional delivery fee (for the extra trip) plus the tank dump fee, without further approval.
- Weight limits. The Renter must not exceed the RV's posted weight ratings (including its gross vehicle weight rating of 6,000 lbs) with cargo, passengers, water, or otherwise. Overloading the RV can cause damage to the trailer, its frame, axles, tires, stabilizer legs, and other components. Any damage caused by exceeding the weight limits is the Renter's responsibility and must be paid for out of pocket, charged to the card on file.
- Pets. Pets are allowed with the paid pet fee. All pets must be potty trained. Any damage, stains, or odors caused by pets — including messes from pets that are not potty trained — are treated as damage under this agreement and will be charged to the card on file.
- No smoking. Smoking, vaping, or any other smoking of any kind is not allowed inside the RV. Smoke damage, burns, or odors are treated as damage under this agreement and will be charged to the card on file, together with any cleaning needed to remove smoke odor.
- Pre-trip inspection. Before departure, you must inspect the RV and document any existing damage in writing, agreed to and notated by both you and the Company. Any damage not documented in writing before departure will be considered to have occurred during your rental and is your responsibility.
- Return of provided items. All items provided with the RV — including keys, remotes, hoses, cords, adapters, and any other equipment, accessories, or supplies — remain the property of the Company and must be returned with the RV at the end of the rental, in the same condition received. Nothing that was provided may be kept, discarded, or left behind. If any provided item is missing, lost, or returned damaged, the replacement cost will be charged to the card on file.
- Termination for violation. The Company may terminate this agreement at any time, without refund, if you violate any of these terms.
- Brake controller (California law). California state law requires a brake controller to tow this RV. If your tow vehicle does not have a brake controller built in, you must rent the Company's brake controller ($75). You will not be allowed to leave with or pick up the RV without a working brake controller. If you refuse to pay for the required brake controller, your reservation will be canceled without refund. For pick-up reservations, your brake controller will be verified at pick-up; if you do not have one, you must pay the $75 brake controller rental before the RV is released.
- Towing capacity. You are responsible for making sure your tow vehicle can safely tow this travel trailer before booking a pick-up reservation. If you arrive for pick-up and your vehicle does not have the towing capacity required to tow the RV, the RV will not be released and no refund will be given. In that case, you may switch your reservation to a delivery by paying the delivery fee and any applicable add-ons.
- Accessibility. People with disabilities are welcome to rent the RV. The RV sits a little higher off the ground and has stairs, so depending on your disability, getting in and out may be a little harder. The RV is not ADA compliant. The Company apologizes for the inconvenience.
- Age requirement. You must be 18 years or older to rent the RV. The date of birth you provide must be accurate; bookings made by anyone under 18 will be canceled without refund.
- Identification. You must provide a valid, unexpired driver's license or government-issued ID (photos of the front and back), plus a current email address, phone number, and your current residential address. If the address on your license or ID is not current, you must provide your current address separately. The full name on this reservation — first, middle, and last — must exactly match the name shown on your license or ID. Reservations with names that do not match the license or ID presented may be canceled without refund.
- Responsibility for other drivers and guests. The renter is the only person authorized to tow the RV. If you allow anyone else to tow the RV — or, in the case of a delivery, to enter or be around the RV — you remain fully responsible for any damage, loss, or costs they cause, even if the damage was their fault and not yours, because you are the one who allowed them to tow or access the RV. All charges for such damage are your responsibility under this agreement.
- Delivery — RV must not be moved. For delivered reservations, the RV may not be moved, towed, or driven by anyone other than the renter who booked the reservation. Allowing anyone else to move the RV is a violation of this agreement, and the Company may cancel the reservation without refund and hold you responsible for any resulting damage or costs.
- Unsafe delivery conditions. If, upon arriving to deliver the RV, the Company determines that the road, access route, or delivery site is unsafe or could cause damage to the Company's vehicle or the RV, the Company may decline to complete the delivery and return the RV. In that case the reservation will be canceled without refund.
- Accurate information. You confirm that all information you provided — including your full legal name, date of birth, address, phone, email, driver's license, tow vehicle, and delivery details — is true, accurate, and complete. Providing false or misleading information may result in cancellation of the reservation without refund.
- Delivery mileage charges. For delivered reservations, the delivery fee is based on the driving miles from the Company's Huntington Beach location to your delivery site. The charge is $4 per mile for the first 75 miles, and $7 per mile for each mile beyond 75 miles, subject to a $150 minimum. Delivery is available only within 150 miles. The mileage is calculated for you from the delivery address you provide, and the delivery charge shown at booking is the amount you agree to pay under this agreement.
- Delivery access. If you request delivery, you are responsible for making sure our staff can reach the delivery site and deliver the RV without a problem — including safe and open road access, adequate space to position the RV, and any required gate codes, passes, reservations, or check-in arrangements. If our staff is unable to deliver the RV because of an access problem, blocked route, or an issue on your end, the reservation is canceled without refund. If the delivery site charges any entry, gate, or admission fees (such as campground or park entry fees), those fees are charged to the payment card on file.
- Renter presence at pick-up or delivery. The person who booked the reservation must be personally present at both pick-up (or delivery) and return. They must be at least 18 years of age and present their valid, unexpired driver's license or government-issued ID in person at the time of pick-up or delivery. The RV will not be released to anyone else, and a reservation may be canceled without refund if the renter is not present with valid identification.
